For centuries Gdynia was little more than a humble fishing village. However, with Poland's rebirth after the First World War, the Polish Government decided to build a deep-sea port in northern Poland. Gdynia became Poland's main harbour and the big sea port at the Baltic Sea. Today, Gdynia is a modern city with a population of a quarter-million and is the second major polish port in the Baltic Sea after Gdansk. There are great views of the sea, and long promenades, beautiful waterfronts, marinas, yacht clubs and great sand beaches.
What a fantastic aerial view of a well-planned sea-port!
