Over 1400 feet high, Maryland Heights affords a spectacular view of Harpers Ferry. The town is situated at the north end of the Shenandoah Valley where the Shenandoah River (left) empties into the Potomac River (right). It is here that the three states of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia meet.

Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter

I read that decades ago, there were thousands of people living on boats in the typhoon shelter having their own distinct subculture. Today it has dwindled and little remains of the boat dweller's traditional way of life. Now there are many anchored luxury yachts and restaurants serving "typhoon shelter cuisine". Ahh, modernisation and the changes it brings....
