Blue Ridge Parkway
Sender: RobinP
The Blue Ridge Parkway, sometimes called "America's Favourite Drive", provides both stunning scenery and close-up looks at the natural and cultural history of the southern Appalachian Mountains. Generally, the Parkway sections of North Carolina are higher in elevation and more rugged in their beauty.

Xiaoyoukeng
Sender: RachelDing
Xiaoyoukeng, Yangmingshan National Park, Taiwan
I read that the biggest attraction here is the sulfur pit of volcanic fumaroles and steam gushing out of the mountainside can probably be seen. Ooh, I'd like to see that!
Tenaya Lake
Sender: Monkeyflower
Yosemite National Park
Text on card: Very few lakes are easily accessible in Yosemite National Park. Tenaya Lake is one of the easiest to reach (when Tonga Road is open, late May or early June through sometime in November) and is quite popular for picnicking, swimming, and canoeing.
What a superbly awesome view!

Marmot Resting
Sender: Hootnoodle
Marmot resting on the alpine tundra in the Olympic Mountain Range
Marmot: one of the largest members of the squirrel family. The Olympic marmot can be found on rocky mountain slopes and hillsides and in alpine meadows. The Olympic marmot is active in the day. It feeds in the morning and afternoon. When is is not feeding, it spends its time sunning itself on rocks. It retreats to its burrow at night. (Ah...that is life...!)

Skiers in the White Valley
Sender: Gaël
Text on card: "Skieurs Au Passage Des Séracs Dans La Vallée Blance"
Translated: Skiers passing seracs in the white valley (I think?)
Can you see the itsy-bitsy teenie-weenie skiers on the right side of the card? Eeee....I would not dare be like them and ski down the steep valley/slope/hill/ whatever! (As if I could ski!?!) And if I did, I would have left my tummy and bravado way up at the start and went all the way down yelling for my mother, (and perhaps triggering an avalanche! No!).
Therefore, to save all the skiers in any ski steep slopes, Lufra has Magnanimously Decided Not To Venture in such extreme sports. :-D

Snow-capped Volcanoes
Sender: Lyndle
A aerial view of the three active volcanoes of Tongariro National Park: Mt Tongariro (foreground), Mt. Ngauruhoe, and Mt. Ruapehu, the highest at 2797 metres. This tranquil photo belies the fact that these volcanoes have been among the most active in the world in the 20th century.
A beautiful landscape despite its Ring of Fire status.
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee stamp!

The Three Parallel Rivers
Sender: Carmenchen
The Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas
The Yangtze (Jinsha), Lancang (Mekong) and Nujiang (Salween) rivers run roughly parallel, north to south, through steep gorges and are bordered by glaciated peaks and never converge. The protected area of the Three Parallel Rivers is also a region inhabited by 16 different ethnic groups. It is a peculiar place where multi-ethnic groups, different languages, various religions, cultures and manners and customs co-exist.
UNESCO: "(It) may be the most biologically diverse temperate region on earth".
