Crystal Palace, Madrid

Sender: Aurora
Crystal Palace or Palacio de Cristal, Retiro Park, Madrid

Built in 1887, modelled on London's Crystal Palace of the 1850's, it was made almost entirely of glass set in an iron framework on a brick base, which is decorated with ceramics. In front of the entrance to the Palace are steps leading down into the large artificial lake of the Retiro Park. The lake contains ducks, geese, black swans and terrapins, who will swim close to the steps, or you can hire boats on the lake for a closer view.

Potsdam ~ Neuer Garten

Sender: Nordseekrabbe
Potsdam ~ Neuer Garten

Neuer Garten (New Garden)
The New Garden is one of the ensembles comprising the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin". Sanssoucci is the former summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. It was builtbetween 1745 and 1747.

I love this place and would like to visit it, but I would huff and puff for sure, climbing up those stairs. But the views would be well worth the climb!
