Although he seemed relaxed, James Dean was a highly self-conscious star who fussed over the perfect picture. In customary leather jacket he poses awkwardly with bongo drums, a cigarette jammed in his mouth. 

In the early 1950's, James Dean was heralded as the new heartthrob of women and rebellious idol of men.

Quote: "How can you measure acting in inches?!?" (when told he was too short to be an actor). James Dean's actual height was 5'8".

I was not informed about the lady on the card. Is she a Russian movie actress? In any event, she has movie star looks and is dressed like "Flappers" in the 1920's. 

From Wikipedia: "Flappers were a "new breed" of young Western women in the 1920s who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to jazz, and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behaviour. Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive makeup, drinking, treating sex in a casual manner, smoking, driving automobiles and otherwise flouting social and sexual norms.
