Doors of Dublin

Sender: Megan

Megan lives in Melbourne, Australia. The doors pictured are seen in Ireland. Imagine having a bright coloured front door, pretty aren't they?

Georgian Dublin: Dublin, the capital of Ireland is situated on the River Liffey at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains. Among the memorable features of this beautiful and historic city are the many fine squares, public buildings and spacious streets of the Georgian period (approximately 18th Century)

Athassel Priory

Sender: Alienne
'P' is for 'Priory'!

Athassel Priory is a ruined monastic site in County Tipperary, Ireland founded in the 12th century. Although it is in ruins, many details from the original medieval priory that once stood here still remain. The church entrance is a beautifully carved doorway at its west end, while to the south of the church is the cloister, its graceful arches eroded by time.

An Irish Door

Sender: Chrissybaby

Text on card: Greetings from Dublin: Dublin is abundant with colourful Georgian doors and many still survive with their polished brass fittings. The vibrant colours used on the doors was to add some individual flair and to counteract the strict architectural rules of the style. Although the Georgian Door can be seen throughout the city, the best examples can be seen in the sweeping terraces of houses such as Baggot Street, Leeson Street, Merrion Square and Mountjoy Square.

TQ to Chrissybaby for adding to my door collection! :)
Love this nature walk stamp!
