The Jersey Lily

Sender: Lesera
The Jersey Lily
Jersey born actress and Victorian beauty Lillie Langtry
Portrait by Sir Edward Poynter

Lillie Langtry was one of the most well-known women in the Victorian era. Painters clamoured to capture her likeness on canvas, people bought her photographs to display, and she even captured the heart of some royals.

"She is so pretty, she takes away a man's breath, she has no right to be intelligent, daring and independent as well as lovely." George Bernard Shaw on Lillie Langtry.

Trakai is an island on Lake Galve. It is a historic city with a 15th Century castle, a popular tourist attraction. A lovely viewcard, I love the warm colours of the castle and the rolling clouds above.

Tourist Attractions in Lithuania

Sender: Astuole

A multiview card from Astuole. As an extra gift, Astuole sent a thick tourism booklet relating to Lithuania, so that she can show me her country and its attractions. She correctly surmised that me and my family would not know much about Lithuania. In fact we don't know Lithuania at all! So we enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures highlighting the tourist attractions there.

Who knows, maybe one day I can go there. One day...

TQ Astuole!
Love the stamps!

3D Penguins!

Sender: Marta

A 3D postcard that gives me a thrill! With special printing and lamination to give depth to the picture, I can see the penguins move if I flip the card around and view the image from different directions :)

Fluffy Kitty II

Sender: Jurgita

Jurgita drew my address on Postcrossing's 6th birthday celebration (1 of the 6 extra addresses offered to all existing postcrossers). I managed to do the same too on that date, discovered the offer just by luck, as it ended at midnight! This kitty card is my second one, but I find it cute all the same. Further, the card may have the same picture on the front but the stamps, the country of origin and the written words at the back are not!  :)
