Mariken van Nieumeghen

Sender: Elsbeth

The card shows "Mariken van Nieumeghen", a character from a play about a young woman who was seduced by the devil and spent seven years in sin with him, after which she repented and was miraculously released.

The stamp on the right is exactly like the card!

Encantarias

Sender: Rosanegra

Encantarias is the name by which a particular type of fairy who lives at the bottom of ravines and rivers is known in Ribagorza (Huesca, Spain). Extremely elusive and difficult to be seen, some legends tell of people who manage to come in contact with them who become rich and lucky and enter into a magical world.

Puss In Boots

Sender: Sixth Sense
"Puss In Boots" by Boris Dekhterev

Translated text on card:-
One miller after his death has left inheritance to his three sons:- A mill for the eldest, a donkey for the middle and a cat to the youngest.
"Don't get sad, master. Give me a strong bag and order a pair of boots and you will see that you are not wronged by life like you think you are."

The Festive Dragon

Sender: Ave
"The Festive Dragon" - Maria Sergunina

'D' is for 'Dragon'.
I didn't expect a dragon card from Russia, let alone a festive and red one! I thought only countries with Chinese mythology and folklore (East Asian countries) would have a festive dragon ie. celebrating the Year of the Dragon 2012. I really forgot that dragons are featured in the myths of many cultures. And Russia is included too! :-)
