Persepolis or Takht-é Jamshidwas was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire and built in about 500 BC by the Achaemenian Kings Darius, Xerxes and their successors. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Do you sometimes wonder how the people then built these massive structures without cranes or other modern equipment??
