Text on card: Biltmore House's west side and Lagoon in summer.
Frederick Law Olmsted was careful to introduce a park-like element to Biltmore's landscape. This western view of Biltmore's House showcases Olmsted's ability to combine a residential home of such magnitude with the quiet beauty of a park and lagoon.
Biltmore conjures images of Pemberley! If you are into "Pride and Prejudice" like I am, and have seen the BBC 1995 production of the story, can you imagine Mr Darcy striding out of that lagoon/lake in his white shirt and making his way up to 'Pemberley'? And bumping into Lizzy Bennet along the way?
Yes, I am a Mr Darcy addict! And my name is Lufra! LOL! :D
