Hamburg At Night

Sender: Manuela
Hansestadt Hamburg, St. Pauli Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Landing Bridges)

Hamburg Harbour with its pier and gigantic container ships is the biggest tourist attraction in Hamburg. The many streams, rivers and canals in Hamburg are crossed by thousands of bridges...more than Venice?! And this year is Hamburg Harbour's 822nd anniversary. Happy Anniversary!

Cat Places

Sender: emotis

This card is entitled "Cat Places"  :)

All cat owners know that cats have favourite places to just, you know, chill...(like what Sooty is doing there in the picture). Where is your cat's favourite chill spot? Our cat loves to chill on top of my car!! :P

London At Night

Sender: cdnstar

cdnstar sent this card from London (during one of her travels) for the Themed Messages RR.

To see London by night, you can take the double-decker buses operating through the heart of London's West End and historic City of London, giving you the chance to view some of London's most famous sights and landmarks at their floodlit best.

I personally love certain parts of London. The scenic public parks, squares and open spaces, the architecture, the atmosphere, the hustle and bustle, the Tube and red buses...and window shopping in winter time during the days leading to X'mas (when "look see look see" has to be controlled or else it becomes "gotta have it gotta have it"!)

Soon all eyes will be turned to London, site of the upcoming 2012 Summer Olympics.

A Wonderful Life?

Sender: pursu

This is a picture by Terho Peltoniemi, a Finnish illustrator. Don't you think that the old couple look rather jolly? I tried to use Google Translate to translate the Finnish phrase on this card but the results came out so weird! Now what does the phrase actually mean??

Is this lipstick the correct shade?

Sender: Pevisheva

Pevisheva sent an art card by a Russian contemporary artist, Victoria Kirdiy. This artist is a new discovery for me! I googled and found more of her works on the web such as her watercolours, oil paintings, illustrations, graphics, all kinds. But I mostly love her watercolours, especially those of little girls or women with fuzzy long orange coloured hair. Just like the girl pictured in this card.

Thank you Pevisheva. I have since discovered that I love contemporary artwork/illustrations by local artists, such as this card you sent me  :)

The Green Fairy

Sender: Nadamira

This is a green fairy in a green setting from Ukraine!

Green is life. It signifies growth, renewal, health and environment. Green is a restful colour, with calming attributes, time moves faster in a green room. On the other hand, green signifies jealousy, or envy and inexperience...
I wish that Nadamira has more space on the card to stick her beautiful stamps side by side...
