Óbidos is a medieval village. Its name comes from the Latin term ‘oppidum’ meaning fortified city, and is believed to have been occupied by the Romans during the early days. It is a beautiful place with its cobblestone streets that are lined with beautiful houses and churches and colorful flowers such as bougainvillea and geraniums.
