The Calaveras (skulls) Cave is the main attraction of the village of Benidoleig. The cave obtained its name from the 12 skulls that were found in its interior when it was discovered in 1768. Bronze and Neolithic remains have also been discovered in the cave. The entrance is 70 metres above sea level and the cave extends for 440 metres, the visitors’ path being over 300 m in length. In it are stalactites, stalagmites and large domes, more than 50 metres high and the path leads to an inner lake.
I've been to only one cave thus far, in Somerset, England. I'd love to explore Calaveras Cave in Spain too!
