Murter, Croatia

Sender: ddonkey

ddonkey wrote that Murter is actually a small tourist port and a kind of a gateway to the surrounding islands of Kornati.

I read on the net that Murter can mean two things: Murter, the island, and Murter, the small town on the north-western part of the island.

MURTER, the island, is separated from the mainland by the narrow Murter channel and connected to the mainland with a bridge. There are four small touristic towns on the island: Betina and Murter on the north-west and Jezera and Tisno on the eastern side. Murter is one of the favourite destinations of boaters and those who prefer peaceful vacations since it has almost ideal conditions for tourism: nice sunny beaches, quality acommodation and various services. Murter and its wider surroundings are also favourite stops for yachtsmen who can use the marina's premises, service workshops and all the necessary facilities for yachts.

Murter and Kornati arhipelago consists of 189 islands, cliffs, reefs and rocks and it is one of the most beautiful areas on the Mediterranean.

I like aerial views, they make me appreciate the differences of various places in the world. For this one, I can see the orange roofs, the marina, the yachts and the islands in one shot. ddonkey also wrote that it's currently sunny & warm in Murter, perfect for a visit. I wish I can fly there immediately :)
