Peek-A-Boo

Barcelos Rooster

Galo de Barcelos - Barcelos Rooster

The rooster which is a subject of an interesting legend. Basically, the original rooster crowed as soon as a wrongfully accused man declared it would, so the man was never taken to the gallows.

Having known about that legend, why then did the picture remind me of the Angry Birds game?! :)

Rice is the foundation of the South East Asian diet. For village families, rice fills their lives and feeds their families. But with technology, now Vietnam has become one of the world's top rice producers.

I realise that I can now find Vietnamese rice being sold in some supermakets here.

Château de Pierrefonds (Oise)

Situated North of Paris near the Forest of Compiègne, Château de Pierrefonds is a majestic and beautiful palace. Originally built by Philippe d' Orléans in the 15th century and demolished on the order of Louis XIII in the 17th century. 200 years later Napoleon III ordered that Château de Pierrefonds be rebuilt as an imperial residence.

A bit of trivia, the castle serves as "Camelot" for the BBC TV series "Merlin", a series which I enjoy watching :)
