Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans
'E' is for 'Every'!
Ron Weasley to Harry Potter:-
"You want to be careful with these. When they say every flavour, they mean every flavour - you know you get all the ordinary ones like chocolate and peppermint and marmalade, but then you can get spinach and liver and tripe. George reckons he had a bogey-flavoured one once."
Imagine eating snot flavoured beans....ewwww!
Reading Woman Lying On A Garden Bench, 1913
Carl Larsson 1853-1919
'L' is for 'Lovely', 'Larsson', Lying', 'Lesen' (in German), 'Little' and 'Louvre'! Fantastic usage of letter 'L' in one card!! And I completely love this charming picture!
Clockwise from left: Period costume and heavy horses create a sense of gold rush yesteryear at Sovereign Hill; inside the Robert Clark Conservatory at Ballarat Botanic Gardens; a replica fence recreates the scene of the Eureka Stockade.
"Draw me a sheep"
The first night, then, I went to sleep on the sand a thousand miles from any inhabited country. I was more isolated than a man shipwrecked on a raft in the middle of the ocean. So you can imagine my surprise when I was awakened at daybreak by a funny little voice saying, "Please ... Draw me a sheep... "
"Draw me a sheep... "
I leaped up as if I had been struck by lightning. I rubbed my eyes hard. I stared. And I saw an extraordinary little fellow staring back at me very seriously.

Text on card: Festivals excel at providing a main theme for marketing a city. With fireworks and the New Year's countdown - and now with Taipei 101, the world's tallest building - the New Year's celebration in Taipei attracts the world's notice year after year.
(Taipei 101 has been outranked by now. I think currently the world's tallest building is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.)
Apple blossom in the Altes Land near Hamburg
Altes Land, a German region stretching along the Elbe river between Hamburg, Buxtehude and Stade, is particularly beautiful in spring, when the scent of apple, pear and cherry blossoms fill the air and the orchards are a mass of pastel hues.
"Brother and Sister"
A lovely illustration of a fairytale by the Brothers Grimm
'B' is for 'Brother'
When they came to the third spring the sister heard how its rushing sound said, "Whoever drinks from me will become a deer. Whoever drinks from me will become a deer."
The sister said, "Oh, brother, do not drink, or you will become a deer and run away from me."
But the brother had already knelt down by the spring, leaned over, and drunk from the water. As soon as the first drops touched his lips he lay there in the form of a young deer.
Now the sister cried over her poor bewitched brother, and the deer cried also, sitting sadly next to her.
Finally the girl said, "Be quiet, my sweet little deer. I will never, never leave you."
