Riku

Sender: Kamipaper
'R' is for 'Riku' in "Kingdom Hearts"

"Once we step through, we might not be able to come back. We may never see our parents again. There's no turning back. But this may be our only chance. We can't let fear stop us! I'm not afraid of the darkness!"—Riku

Rockhopper Penguins

Sender: Qhasami
'R' is for 'Rockhopper' penguins.

Rockhopper Penguins, Falkland Islands.

I have seen them in an aquarium here, they were so cute as they jumped from rock to rock, rather than waddling like other penguins! I loved their straight, bright yellow eyebrows/long yellowish plumes. Very  hip and fashionable!

The Princess Mononoke
(by the way, "Mononoke" is not a name, but a general term in Japanese for a spirit or monster)

A Studio Ghibli movie of a mystical battle between Animal Gods of the forest and humans. A lush visual delight.. As you can see by now, I am a big fan of Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli, and this is one of my favourite of all his films. Go watch it now!

Kyo-Maiko girl and snow view of Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto

Maiko is a 15 to 20 year-old student training become a Geisha in Kyoto. They learn to sing, dance and play Japanese traditional instruments in front of visitors during their feasts.

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is a Zen Temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf.

The Deathly Hallows (Part 2)

Sender: Michiko

Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality.

Hooray for this postcard of "The Deathly Hallows - Part 2" poster!

I had to wait in the queue for the book once it was released...and then I had to wait for the first part of the movie to be released (which I did get to watch)...and then I had to wait for the second part to be released (which I did get to watch also). So all in all for me, "The Deathly Hallows" was a lot to do with waiting! :-D
