Lime Kiln Lighthouse
Sender: Hootnoodle
Lime Kiln Lighthouse, San Juan Island, WA
San Juan Island is located in San Juan County, in the northwest corner of Washington. The Lime Kiln Lighthouse, a name derived from the lime kilns built nearby in the 1860s, was first established in 1914.
(It looks as if it fits as the site of a spooky movie)

Smoky Cape Lighthouse
South West Rocks, New South Wales, Australia
I am sure the lighthouse itself is as beautiful as the coastal views that one can see from up there....

Westmole During A Hurricane
Sender: Alienne
Westmole During A Hurricane. Windforce 12.
Alienne writes that the letters E.O.L. stand for Elements of the Ocean raging around a Lighthouse. That's pretty neat, Alienne! And this postcard is superbly impressive but my old scanner didn't do it justice! I can sense the power of the crashing waves, whoa!

Bretagne
Sender: Lapoussine35
Text on Card: The Glories of Bretagne. The end of the earth.
I read that Bretagne (Brittany) occupies a peninsula at the northwestern corner of France, separating La Manche (the English Channel) from the Golfe de Gascogne (Bay of Biscay). Brittany’s coast is both rugged and indented and there are many cliffs, capes, islands, rocks and reefs. In this card two lighthouses can be seen. I read further that Brittany alone accounts for more than one third of all the lighthouses and fire towers illuminating the French coast. Wow, that is a lot!

Ole West
Sender: Alienne
Ole West. Ah, waren wir verabredet? (I think it means "Ah, we had a date?")
Alienne sent 'L' for 'Lighthouse' or 'Leuchtturm' in German. This painting is called "Ole West", complete with a "beach basket" in the dunes.

Heceta Head Lighthouse
Sender: Hootnoodle
Heceta Head Lighthouse
Dwarfed by the impressive cliff on which it was built in 1894, Heceta Head Lighthouse's picturesque setting has made it one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States.
Heceta Head (pronounced huh-SEE-tuh) honors Bruno de Heceta, the Portuguese captain of a Spanish ship, who first sighted the cape in 1775.
