The Ironbridge Gorge Museum

Sender: Duplevista

Duplevista sent this card for the Alphabet RR, 'I' is for 'Ironbrige' and the Museum of 'Iron'.

The bridge, the adjacent settlement and the natural gorge together form a popular tourist destination, and form part of the UNESCO Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. One of Shropshire's top attractions, the Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The Iron Bridge crosses the River Severn at the Ironbridge Gorge, by the village of Ironbridge, in Shropshire, England. It was the first Arch bridge in the world to be made out of cast iron.

I have been to Ironbridge Gorge and seen the Ironbridge many many years ago, but have never visited the museum. It was a fun trip, in a rented Peugeot full of wacky friends, camera whoring all around the area...I really miss those crazy times..Lucky I still have my Ironbridge photos and cherished memories. Thank you to Duplevista for this card :-)
