California Jackalope

Sender: Vejoyce

Text on card: CALIFORNIA JACKALOPE. This seldom seen animal inhabits both desert and mountain regions of California. Not much is known about this elusive animal but experts say can run at speeds of over 50 miles per hour and that they can become very aggressive when approached. One reason for their few numbers could be their mating habits; they are only known to breed during electrical storms with hail.

(Yeah, right!!)

Vejoyce writes that the Jackalope is actually a mythical creature. Despite the myth, I realise that there are many webpages created by "those who believe". I have never heard of the actual jackalope, the only one I know of is that silly creature on an American TV show, mouthing "Fast as fast can be, you'll never catch me!"

From Wikipedia: The jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore (a so-called "fearsome critter") described as a jackrabbit with antelope horns or deer antlers and sometimes a pheasant's tail (and often hind legs).
