Berlin

Berlin Museumsinsel mit Blick zum Fernsehturm
(Berlin Museum Island, overlooking the TV Tower)

Berlin is the capital city of Germany. It is a huge city by the looks of this card!

Berlin has several monuments with observation decks. One is the TV Tower near Alexanderplatz, "Fernsehturm", the tallest tower in Germany and second largest in Europe, which has a rotating café at the top spinning 360 degrees in just 30 minutes (see the left side of the card...would I be dizzy in there?)

Museum Island or "Museumsinsel" is the name of the northern half of an island in the Spree river in the central Mitte district. It is so called for the complex of five museums, that occupy the island's northern part (see the centre of the card):-

(1) Pergamon-Museum - ancient Greek, ancient Middle-Eastern and Islamic art and architecture;
(2) Altes Museum - Egyptian and antique collection;
(3) Alte Nationalgalerie - mainly German paintings of the 19th century;
(4) Bode-Museum - sculpture collection and Byzantine art;
(5) Neues Museum - Egyptian collection, Neaderthal and other pre-historic archeological finds, and some of the treasures unearthed at Troy.

I want to visit the museums!!
