The Vulture Goddess Nekhbet

Sender: Monkeyflower
Treasures of Tutankhamun 1979-2009 Commemorating 30 Years

Text on card: Collar in the form of the Vulture Goddess Nekhbet, from the Tomb of Tutankhamun, Egyptian, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, reign of Tutankhamun (ca. 1334-1325 B.C.). Gold inlaid with semi-precious stones. Egyptian National Museum, Cairo.

Whilst there exists a worldwide fascination with Egyptian tombs, and the treasures/jewelleries inside, I can't help but recall that the latter were created for the afterlife...I  leave it to the archeologists and experts to extract them and learn more about them. Because I wouldn't want to be the one disturbing the real things...call it...a fear of the superstitions surrounding them??!!!
