'L' is for 'Lion'
Mountain Lion - Distinguished by its large size and long tail, Felis concolor is also known as the mountain lion, cougar, puma and panther. This secretive cat once ranged from northern Canada to Patagonia. Its adaptability allowed it to survive in habitats as diverse as rugged mountains, forests and swamps. Man has greatly reduced the mountain lion's range and population. Sightings of this elusive cat are rare.
